Here is a link to a free doily pattern so if you can crochet you can make your own:)
has anyone ever seen these? i love them they are so neat. i was recently in a craft show and they person that was throwing the craft show gave me a huge trash bag full of doily yarn. so when i got home i googled what you could do with doily's and got so many ideas;).
So if you can crochet make your own doily's or have some that were grandmas or piced some up at a thrift store you can make this.
materials- doily's i would say about 10 if they are big the more the better.
wall paper paste or you can use the modge podge stuff.
gloves
paint brush
bucket to mix in
a plate to brush the mixture on your doily's
and a big balloon the bigger the better.
light fixture balb part and cord,. you can take out of an old lamp or get at hardware store.
wire
1-you blow up the balloon then tie string on the tied off part.
2- follow directions on the mixtures to make them
3- take the paint brush and paint the doily's with the paste. use a bunch you want it to stick.
4- then just attach the doily's all over the balloon until it is covered. make sure you over lap some so that they stick together
5- let dry for a about 24 hours. once dry pop the balloon.
6-cut a opening at the top of the doily globe and add a light. make sure that you push the light far enough into the doily globe so that the balb isnt touching .
7- take the wire and wrap it around the light part and your doily so that it stays in place and also make a loop so that you can hang it.
and wa la you have a light and when you shut off all light you get this beautiful effect. enjoy and i hope that you show me what your finished products looks like;)
